What To Do Prior To The Arrival Of Your Emergency Plumber

In a plumbing emergency, all the seconds before the arrival of your plumber count. Plumbing issues can lead to the damage of property and valuables worth a lot of dollars. In case you have an emergency, it is recommended that you take steps to mitigate the damage to your property.

Here are the things you should do prior to the arrival of your plumber.

First, find the cut off valve for your water supply and turn it on. If your pipes still have water and you have a leak problem, you are increasing the probability of more damage to your property.

Next, try to locate the source of the plumbing issue and take practical steps to try to stem the problem. For example, if you have a leak, you can use tape to tie around the leaking area so that water stops spilling into your house.

If your house is flooded, find out if there is any risk that the water will get into contact with any power supply point. If this is a possibility, turn off the power supply and do not turn it on until your issue has been resolved and you have removed all excess water from your property.

If you have valuables that are risk of getting damaged, transfer them to a safe place where they cannot be affected. If you delay in moving your goods, your items may end up being rendered unusable because of water damage.

To make it easier for your plumber to provide a lasting fix for your problem, note down the history of plumbing problems you have had in your property in the past. By doing this, your plumber will not only fix the problem at hand but they will also take measures to ensure that you do not get any plumbing emergencies in the near future.

Though your emergency plumber will rush to your assistance, the minutes before arrival can make a huge difference in the level of loss you incur. Protect yourself, your loved ones, your property and valuables by implementing the tips discussed in this article.

More About Whitehaven, TN

Whitehaven, TN is a residential town outside of Memphis that was originally developed as an upper-class area casually referred to as Blackhaven. Established in the 1890s, today it is most famous for being the home of Elvis Presley’s famed Graceland residence. It is located south of Midtown Memphis and west of the Memphis International Airport.

Most of the residents of Whitehaven are white-collar workers and women outnumber the men in this section of Memphis. It used to be its own town but it is now a part of the city of Memphis. It was built to allow for a railway to course through in the mid 1800s. The original namesake, Colonel Frances White, was an early settler of the area and helped invest in that railway. The town connected itself to the cotton fields making commerce and work easier to conduct.

As the home of Graceland Mansion, Whitehaven, TN is a huge tourist area. The mansion is open to visitors year-round and includes a small museum as well as Elvis’ resting place. The museum displays his cars and clothing. There are diners on the site with an Elvis theme and a hotel nearby for visitors to stay at. Graceland is busiest around the time of Elvis’s birthday and death anniversary, January and August respectively. There are plenty of tours of Memphis which feature spots of interest in Elvis’s early career.

T.O. Fuller State Park is close by and is a popular place for residents and visitors to hike or golf. David Carnes Park is another spot for outdoor fun. The park features several walking paths, playgrounds, and it has a turfed field for sports and games. There is a set of fitness equipment and obstacle courses for use as well as several pavilions throughout the park for picnicking or relaxing.
